Everyone should have a blog. Blogs are the new diaries, emails, chat boxes, dating sites, social networks, conversations in a bar, phone calls, letters, ways of making friendships and the perfect way to get attention. Everyone can start one and within seconds brag about how awesome his or her lives are, even though the writer is pathetically sitting behind his/her computer having no life accept for an online one.
I want to write a blog.
My name is Martine Bakker from the Netherlands. In Holland we have loads of me, well not exactly I guess, but loads of girls with the exact same name. Even thought I think my parents did an awesome creative job with creating my name, it is true that there are just too much similar name girls out there.
Which does not really matter in real life, but which does matter for an online identity. All the combinations martinebakker, bakkermartine, mbakker, bakkerm…. Those name-claimer-girls already took away everything.
So.. in Holland we pronounce 10 as TEEN, so for the originality my blog name is mar10ebakker.wordpress.com
In 2009 I graduated in Fashion & Branding at The Amsterdam Fashion Institute. The minor, internship and final thesis I studied in creating magazines and fashion journalism.
After traveling through South America, working in Amsterdam, volunteering in California and searching for a goal in my life all over the world I decided to become a student again.
January 2011 I started my master degree in Communication, Culture and Media at Coventry University (UK) My master specialization is Digital Media and Culture.
My aim is to become a writing, traveling, blogging journalist, who knows everything about cultures and nature all around the world, films, (new) media, magazines, fashion & communication. I hope I will find a job like that by the time I am done studying. I ones heard that most students today, study for jobs that are not even invented yet, so otherwise I have to create my own job description : )
